In nearly 90% of the human population, height is attributed to genetics. The exact number of genes that determine height is not known. Scientists estimate the number to be between 7 to 20 genes.
Genes involved in human growth consist of major growth genes and minor growth genes.

MAJOR GROWTH GENES - play an important role in making us taller or shorter.
MINOR GROWTH GENES have less effects on growth traits.

NONGENETICS

Other factors in reaching maximum height include a healthful diet, lifestyle factors, exercise and sleep.
