Basic Preparation
In order to become a dermatology nurse, you will have to complete four years of school to acquire a bachelor's degree of science or two years of school to acquire an associate's degree from a nursing program. You can either got to a university or community college in your area. Afterward, you will have to pass the National Council Licensure Exam, or NCLE. Once you pass it, you will receive a license to practice in dermatology nursing.
Considerations
Before you decide to apply for a certificate program, you should know that you will need to complete 2,000 or more hours of experience over a two year period. You may be able to get this experience working as an administrator, staff nurse, researcher or teacher of dermatological nursing.

With the Dermatology Nurse's Association, you will be able to research a variety of educational options they will present you with. You will be able to take these preparation courses to help you pass the state exam. They also have courses for those who are looking to continue their education.
