To determine how much a pharmacist would make pretty much depends on a variety of factors. For instance, it depends on where he or she lives, how much experience he or she has and the amount of educational training he or she has had. The region where the pharmacy professional works in also plays a role in how much he or she is paid.

Average Annual

The average annual salary of pharmacists as of 2008 was around $112,135 (this is the average nationwide). This figure was about 4.41 percent more than the average annual salary in 2007.

Average Hourly

Pharmacy professionals across the nation reported that they were making an average of $54 per hour. The pharmacists that reported their annual and hourly salaries also reported that they worked an average of 43 hours weekly.

Experience

The pharmacy professionals that had less experience (which was 5 percent of the surveyed pharmacists) reported making much less than the pharmacists that had over five years experience. Thirty-three percent reported making higher salaries.

Practice Location

The pharmacy professionals who were employed in suburban areas reported making an average salaries that were $1,500 more than those working in rural areas. This means that the community environment they're employed in has an effect on how much they make.

Region

The pharmacists that are employed in the Southwest region of the United States reported that they make an average annual salary of $115,500. Then the pharmacy professionals that were working in the Midwest reported making a lower annual salary amount around $104,000.
