Job Duties of a Hyperbaric Technician

Working as a hyperbaric technician, you will be responsible for administering hyperbaric oxygenation to patients that have been prescribed to receive it. In this field, you will be responsible for keeping the integrity of your department and your patients intact. Caring for Patients

One of the duties of a hyperbaric tech is to give hyperbaric oxygen therapy to various patients. These individuals are having problems with diver's bend, air or gas embolism, cerebral edema and a variety of other poisonings.



Education

When you become certified to work as a hyperbaric technician, you will have to obtain two years of working experience or more.

Equipment

Hyperbaric techs are required to safely operate hyperbaric chambers, along with all of their components.

Patient Records

Another task of this professional is to keep updated medical records of the patients they work with. They have to include detailed results of their therapeutic sessions, their follow-ups, progress and diagnostic tests.

Ensuring Safety

Making sure that the hyperbaric department is performing properly and safely is one of the goals of a hyperbaric tech. They are responsible for maintaining and the administration of every safety regulation and procedure.
