Theresa Hamilton, CEO of Fremont-Rideout Health Group, announced five new appointments at four of its locations. Aaron Wood, former CEO of Melissa Memorial Hospital and Haxtun Hospital District in Colorado, joins Biggs-Gridley Memorial Hospital, while Kristine Cassidy, a co-chairperson of the hospital's leadership development team, joins Fremont Medical Center in Yuba City. Both will be designated as administrators. Morgan and Shafer have been promoted and will now serve as directors of nursing at the Fremont-Rideout Cancer Center in Marysville and Feather River Surgery Center in Yuba City respectively. Susan Vague, a member of the board of directors for the Yuba County Healthcare Initiative, has been promoted to administrator at the Fremont-Rideout Cancer Center.
Upper Ohio Valley IPA chooses Misys Healthcare Systems

Wisconsin has best healthcare
The U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has declared Wisconsin the highest-ranking state among 50 states and the District of Columbia for quality of healthcare. The ranking was based on four types of healthcare settings and 129 measurements. Wisconsin hospitals earned high marks for promptly administering beta blockers to patients suffering from heart attacks, having very few AIDS deaths, and care for pneumonia patients. It was rated "very strong" in quality of diabetes and respiratory-disease care; "strong" in preventive care, ambulatory care, and acute care; and "average" in nursing-home care.
