In order to work as a hospice chaplain, you will have to become trained and licensed. In this field, you will be required to provide emotional and spiritual care to the patients and their family members. The department of the clergy you will be working in is called hospice. You will have to obtain the right credentials to work within a clergy, either voluntarily or paid.

Step One: First, you will need to read what it will take for you to become a hospice chaplain. In this position, you will be working with families and patients that are terminally ill. Your role is to show compassion and empathy, while boosting their spirits.



Step Two: You will need to find an organization that will provide you with hospice credentials to work as a chaplain. Once you become qualified, you will be able to use the credentials on your resume and can even use the college you attended as a reference. You will need to obtain a degree in either divinity or theology. Make sure that you look over the requirements for the course you will be taking. If you are a part of a religious organization, you can ask them how you can become a licensed hospice chaplain or one that is ordained.

Step Three: Now, you will need to fill out the application for the institution that you will be studying in. Make sure to pay any fees that have to be paid for.

Step Four: Once you graduate from your program, you will be able to begin looking for paid work as a hospice chaplain. Make sure that your resume outlines your education and credentials. You may have to continue your education to keep your credentials current.
