DRAFT
The Mobile Therapist (MT) provides individual and family therapy to a child and their family. He/She assists in promoting the independence of the family, by managing mental health needs and/or behavior problems. The MT develops a crisis plan with other involved professionals and the family. He/She must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to effectively assist these patients with their mental health needs.
The ideal candidate must be a Licensed Mental Health Clinician, or Clinical Psychologist, or Clinical Social Worker, or have a graduate degree in Mental Health. He/ she must have at least one year full-time, paid experience in a mental health services agency, only working with children and adolescents. In addition, the MT must have certifications in CPR/First Aid and an unrestricted driver's license in this state. He/She must be knowledgeable regarding mental health care systems, have individual and family therapy experience, and be able to intervene and control agitated clients through non-physical interventions.
The following is a representative list of duties and responsibilities associated with this position:
-- Provide weekly individual and family therapy interventions to client and family
-- Collaborate with team members
-- Complete all paperwork within policy time frames
-- Initiate and attend treatment team meetings monthly with child, family, and treatment team
-- Attend inter-agency meetings
-- Provide services within authorized amount of hours per week
-- Attend staff meetings
-- Comply with all BHRS policies
-- Attend ten hours of training per year
-- If not a licensed Psychologist you must attend supervision with licensed Psychologist one hour a month
-- Travel to and from client sites to perform services
-- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
Licensed Mental Health Clinician, or Clinical Psychologist, or Clinical Social Worker, or have a graduate degree in Mental Health
One year full-time experience working in a mental health services agency, only working with children or adolescents
Individual and family therapy experience
Knowledge of mental health system, managed care payers, and community resources
Certifications in CPR/First Aid
Communication and interpersonal skills to develop relationships with clients, staff, and providers
Demonstrates patience, good judgment, and the ability and interest to work with clients with mental health issues
Able to intervene and control agitated clients through non-physical interventions
Genuine desire to work with clients who have mental health problems
Able to problem solve and work effectively with others
Unrestricted driver's license in this state
