POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Information Systems Educator (CIS Educator) serves in a high level role with responsibility for creating and overseeing clinical information system education; is responsible for designing educational curricula and training methods based on an evaluation of training needs. The CIS Educator provides ongoing educational support to new and existing hospital staff and physicians. This role is expected to customarily and regularly exercise independent judgment with respect to all matters of clinical information system.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Baccalaureate degree in Clinical Specialty and/or Education. Master’s degree in Nursing is highly desirable.
MINIMUM FIELD-OF-EXPERTISE: Current clinical experience in acute care setting. Computer proficiency including keyboard, Windows and word processing. Outstanding communication and organizational skills along with a positive attitude. Willing to continually learn.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Previous teaching experience in acute care setting. Previous experience in development of educational programs. Previous experience in use of an electronic medical record.
