The Critical Care RN oversees and directs the care of the critically ill patient. The Critical Care RN is responsible for the care of open-heart surgery patients, patients with multisystem organ failure, patients requiring kidney and kidney and pancreas transplants and other patients meeting ICU admissions criteria. Serves as primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients.','!*!Position Requirements:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse; BLS - Healthcare provider. ACLS required within the first 12 months of hire.
B. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN Preferred. EKG interpretation competency or course within the first 6 months of hire. Critical Care course or exam must be successfully completed within 6 months of hire.
C. Experience: One-year critical care experience preferred.
D. Special Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members.
