Educational services include the development, coordination and/or instruction of educational programs designed to meet the needs of the professional and non professional personnel and which are in accordance with the goals and objectives of the hospital, the Patient Services Department, and the Emergency Department specifically. The educator will function as an informal consultant to facilitate holistic nursing care of patients and their families/significant others. He/she will also be actively involved as planner, facilitator and/or participant in any ongoing research related to the clinical outcomes of patients or educational outcomes of staff. The educator provides: new employee orientation, nursing student orientation and support, periodic and on-going educational programs and program coordination and presentation of resuscitation emergency preparation training.  The educator must demonstrate knowledge and practical application of theories and principles of adult education. Must also demonstrate professional growth, initiative and creativity. Must demonstrate flexibility in work hours. Must be able to work with all hospital personnel, from Senior Management to bedside care-givers. While functioning in the role of EMS coordinator he/she should act as a liaison and maintain a strong, positive relationship between the hospital and the area EMS providers.  He/she should also serve as an advocate for the hospital with the local EMS agencies.  The coordinator should assist in performance improvement activities that promote quality patient care from a joint hospital and EMS approach.  He/she should also promote the special capabilities of the hospital and conduct ongoing education to the pre-hospital providers in the areas of specialties as needed. ','!*! 
Education:                                   Five years clinical experience in the Emergency Department, Bachelors Degree in Nursing required, Master's degree preferred.
        Licensure/Certifications:           RN License State of Missouri, certification in area of specialty preferred.','RN, Staff Educator, Emergency Department-FT Days
