Job Description
Clinical Nurse Specialist – CNS – Nurse Educator **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. has an immediate need for a CNS - Nurse Educator in Austin, TX!  The Clinical Nurse Specialist functions as a member of the Neurology Unit in the orientation of new staff and identification, assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational needs of all staff members. The Clinical Nurse Specialist also routinely provides direct patient care as a staff nurse.
 
*HIGHLY Competitive Salary Package AND Relocation Assistance Available!* Responsibilities: Interface directly with physicians, patients, and family members, as well as other health care team members throughout the St. David’s Medical Center Perform an advance practice role in the delivery of nursing care to meet the needs of patients to ensure maintenance of health Manage and implement educational materials and programs for staff members   Actively participate in the growth of staff through identification of educational needs, planning of curriculum and evaluation of outcomes Facilitate all orientation programs for incoming staff Provide staff with direct clinical decision support in areas of evaluation, stabilization, crisis intervention, disaster planning and response Provide direct patient care and serve as an expert consultant for nursing staff in diagnosing and treating disease, injury and/or illness Maintains confidentiality of patient’s medical records Provides care for patients of all ages throughout the lifespan Sets priorities and makes decisions of a complex nature Recognizes that variables such as race, age, nationality, culture, disease-causing vulnerabilities, socio-economic factors affect the patient populations under their care and uses interventions appropriate to these factors  
Job Requirements
Requirements: Master’s Degree in Nursing required Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Texas or ability to obtain licensure required Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an acute care setting required, neurology experience highly preferred Minimum of 1 year experience as a staff educator required Current BLS certification required
