In the United States the most needed are healthcare professionals particularly nursing jobs. Jobs in healthcare are growing in number on a daily basis, especially those who specialize in elderly care. The hospitals and clinics are particularly feeling the crunch of such an important job. Private healthcare jobs such as home healthcare professionals are in demand more than most other jobs available. Because of the large amount of job opportunities, people want to know how they can get a job in the nursing area.

1. To get a nursing job get educated in the duties and skills needed to become a nurse. Nursing has different levels and different education will be reuired. To become a certified nursing assistant you will need about 6 weeks of training and your main duties will be to take care of the daily life of the patient or resident as they are called in a nursing home. Next is the licensed practical nurse that has many different skills that must be learned in a nursing school that takes approximately 9 months to a year to finish. ADN is an Associate Degree Nurse or an RN registered nurse which is a nurse with two year degree who can do all of the nursing needed in most places. BSN or Bachelor Degree Nurse, this nurse has more responsibility and is usually in a teaching or leadership positions. Lastly there is an MSN or Masters of Science in Nursing, an Registered Nurse or a Nurse Practitioner can do just about anything that a Doctor does with the exception of writing prescriptions for narcotics and surgery. In order to get a job you must have the right amount of education for your level of nursing.

You will need to get a police clearance, which is needed in most states for you are to get a nursing license this is important because they need to know that you have not been arrested or charged with abuse or any drug charges. This is also a way to protect the people that you will care for and that you are an upstanding citizen.



3. You must get a full physical and a TB test; this is to ensure that you are up to the job physically and that you do not have a form of TB which could harm the people, you take care of.

4. You will need to apply and go through a test for your nursing license, to ensure that you are properly prepared for the job you are taking. Tests are usually administered by the Department of health for almost all the jobs in healthcare. For the most part people who are interested in jobs in healthcare will study for this test through the school that they graduate from or take some refresher courses to make sure they are ready for the test.

5. You must keep your nursing license updated by continuing education classes. All jobs for healthcare professionals require some sort of class to update or increase their skills every one or two years.

6. If you want to join one of the nursing associations, ensure that you have been an exemplary employee, and have maintained the licensing without instances of abuse.

7. You will want to create a resume that shows all your additional skills, has references from your last place of employment and recommendations from teachers or from other healthcare professionals. This shows your level of commitment to your position and that you have done everything within your power to provide the best possible care to the GE healthcare job.

8. Private healthcare jobs will need to complete an orientation from their agency or the state office that they will work for, one that tests their skills and that will teach them the additional skills required for the position.

9. You will also want to take CPR classes for any of the many jobs in healthcare. This is very important and is required of every healthcare professional. The school you went to will most likely make it a part of your schools curriculum, so when you choose a nursing school always checks to see if you can take CPR classes.

10. Lastly you will be required in most states to take a class or an in-house training that shows you safety procedures required by your state, which could apply to everything from storage of chemicals to proper hand washing techniques. This is very important to prevent the spread of germs and to keep your patients safe.
