Clinical Manager Jobs description
A clinical manager is an integral part of an organization and may have clinical and administrative responsibilities. In a medical setting, a clinical manager is generally a professional nurse who provides quality patient care and coordinates and leads the patient care team.The primary responsibility of a clinical manager is to provide total management and clinical support to an assigned patient population. Other important duties include using data and information to improve patient care, facilitating staff development, providing clinical support to patients and staff, undertaking financial and personnel management within the department and participating in quality improvement programs. A clinical manager may also receive referrals and physician orders, perform patient visits and provide care appropriate to the patient’s age.
The minimum educational requirement for a clinical manager job is a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school. Prior supervisory nursing experience in the clinical area is a plus. A current RN license is mandatory. CPR certification is also important. Effective communication, interpersonal, clinical and customer service skills are also important.
