Healthcare Educator Jobs description

An educator in a healthcare setting is generally responsible for planning, coordinating and executing educational training programs to the patient care staff of a facility.

The primary responsibility of an educator is to identify the educational needs of the staff and provide appropriate training. It is the duty of an educator to educate the staff about new equipment and latest medical procedures. Other important aspects of the job are providing competency reviews, taking part in patient care programs, assisting staff to identify problems and develop solutions and overseeing the new employee orientation program. An educator may also assist in the production of education related documentation and publications related to health promotion and disease management.

To apply for an educator job, a bachelor's degree in healthcare, nursing, education or similar fields is required. Current RN license or certification as a healthcare educator is important. Previous experience in education is preferred. Good communication, computer, documentation and interpersonal skills are also important.
