Support Carilion’s hallmarks of service excellence and quality for all job responsibilities.  Provides practical nursing support in the delivery of quality care for the patient in a physician practice or clinic setting as directed by the physician or mid-level practitioner.  Complies with all federal, state, local, Carilion Clinic and departmental policies and standards, as applicable.  Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for patients served.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.

 

Experience: None required.

 

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Licensed to practice practical nursing in the state of Virginia.  Must obtain/maintain AHA BLS-HCP. In Psychiatry and Behavioral Health de-escalation training must be successfully completed within four months of hire and then maintained going forward.

 

Other Minimum Qualifications: Specific experience and certifications may be listed in service line specific addendums to this job description.  Must successfully complete orientation and competency requirements.  Must be able to meet essential job functions.
