Community Care Alliance is seeking a

Supported Employment/ Educational Specialist

to be part of the Healthy Transitions (HT) Coordinated Specialty Care team serving

Northern RI. We are a motivated, flexible, creative, and hard-working team, with a genuine understanding of the unique needs of our participants- young people (16-25 years old) struggling with serious mental health concerns & co-occurring substance disorders, including those who are aging-out” of the foster care system and those experiencing their “First Episode of Psychosis” (FEP). The Employment/ Educational Specialist works closely with the rest of the multidisciplinary treatment team to address a variety of biopsychosocial factors impacting each participant’s mental health, well-being, and recovery.

The successful candidate has :

strong documentation, communication,

organizational and time management skills.

A reliable vehicle, and comfort with transporting participants to appointments and work/ school related activities

A high tolerance for ambiguity and shifting priorities, as participants navigate the transition to adulthood

Agile problem-solving skills under stress/ time pressure

A genuine desire to work with young adults, and belief that participants can manage their symptoms while pursuing their academic or employment goals

A working knowledge of social services systems supporting and impacting the population (Medicaid, Social Security, Special Education, Voc Rehab/ ORS, DCYF)

Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development/ training

The ability to engage effectively with admissions and support staff at local high schools, colleges, and vocational training programs

Skills and strategies to forge partnerships with local employers and volunteer organizations, as well as other CCA vocational professionals.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a human services field preferred; Associate's degree in a human services field required. It is required to have a valid driver’s license and insurance.
