Under the direction of the Manager of Cancer Prevention
& Navigation Services, the Oncology Patient Coordinator arranges cancer
screening procedures for the identified patient populations. This includes
gathering pertinent patient medical information and providing detailed
instruction and guidance to the cancer screening patient.  The Oncology Patient Coordinator coordinates screening
services, promotes effective resource utilization, and eliminates barriers to
care in order to achieve an optimal clinical outcome for the patient.


','!*!Education:
 High school diploma.  At least 5 years of experience in a
healthcare environment.

 

Required Experience:  Sound communication
skills required.  Strong computer skills
are essential, especially in Excel 2007 or higher.

 

Licensure: None

Skills:  Must demonstrate knowledge and competency in
the following areas: sound, effective, interpersonal relationship skills; diplomacy;
compassion; flexibility; patience; perseverance; conciliation skills; embraces cultural
diversity; excellent written
and verbal communication skills; familiarity with both hospital and physician
office processes, structure, and function; sound, up-to-date computer skills; works
effectively in a team environment.  Bi-lingual
language skills are a plus.
