in center development, maintaining relevant policies and procedures,
coordinates multidisciplinary team meetings, patient education, quality
improvement efforts, chart review, education of staff in office and at hospital
facilities, and to serve as a resource for all departments. Marketing program
to increase volume and facilitating monthly seminars. May be required to
provide direct patient care within the scope of RN licensure. Incumbent is
responsible for managing the day-to-day clinical operations and the Bariatric
Surgery Program.Essential FunctionsCoordinates and manages all clinical and day to day aspects of
bariatric program

Works with Practice Manager to coordinate and manage logistical aspects
of bariatric program

Assists Medical Director in center development

Maintains relevant policies and procedures

Coordinates and leads multidisciplinary team meetings

Working with other team members, ensures that patient education is up
to date and effective

Leads quality improvement efforts

Reviews charts for completion of program steps prior to surgery

Provides leadership and education to office staff as well as being the
hospital setting

Serves
as a resource for the bariatric surgery patient and program

Acts
as a liaison between facility and bariatric surgeons

Ensures
call coverage for bariatric patients

Promotes
bariatric program in association with the marketing department as well as
autonomously using resources such as social media, referring physician
outreach, community health events, etc

Provides
direct patient care as appropriate

Collects
program fees and deposits via collections desk at Flaget Memorial Hospital

Updates
as needed: bariatric seminar packet/Program Step sheet, seminar PowerPoint, and
patient binder

Collects
and reviews referral volumes and sources and reports as necessary

Moves
program forward to become an MBSAQIP accredited center or maintains
accreditation as appropriate

Keeps
records of Medical Director monthly time report and submits as appropriate

Other duties as assigned.

/ Accreditation / Licensure (required & preferred):

 

·        
RN, BSN

·        
Current CBN (Certified Bariatric Nurse) or complete within two years of
hire date                

-    BLS

 

             Experience (required
and preferred):


 

·         5
years acute care setting or surgical background

·        
Experience
in the care of Bariatric patients preferred

·        
Leadership
experience preferred
