Job Summary The Oncology US Field Medical Content Excellence and Project Management role will serve as a liaison between field medical and Global Field Medical Excellence (GFME) and jointly with GFME, will be responsible for development of all MSL materials. The incumbent will work closely with US Field Medical Leadership Team, Medical Directors, GFME and Merck to ensure alignment of strategy, standards, and business objectives as it pertains to MSL materials. MSL materials include internally (e.g., background education, training modules, scientific platform, dosing narrative) and externally (e.g., slide decks) facing content. The incumbent will also operationally manage field medical projects, such as improvement of Vector functionalities and reporting, coordination for various MSL-led trainings (e,g, sales training) and producing regular team reports (e.g., insights report). The impact this role will have on the organization includes the following: a) as a representative of Eisai, communicate information about Eisai, the company and its hhc mission; b) ensure MSL materials are of the highest standard and are aligned with business objectives and compliance standards; c) ensure MSL materials are reflective of the user feedback and needs as communicated by MSLs and through insights; actively seek feedback from MSLs, MSL and Medical Affairs Leadership to ensure content needs are being met; d) actively manage and coordinate field medical projects as assigned by Executive Director, Field Medical; and e) support Eisai's corporate mission through demonstrated leadership and participation in strategic thinking. Essential Functions Create annual content development business plan for new and updated/revised content. This will include creating new slide decks, planning when to update or revise them based on Medical Plans and Publication Plans. Conduct periodic content gap analysis /assessment and identify content needs based on insights from the field and MSL knowledge and needs. Accompany MSLs in their scientific engagement periodically to stay connected with the field insights and evaluate first-hand the utilization of MSL externally facing materials. Attend major conferences to stay abreast of the new developments in oncology as well as innovation in content development. Bring this knowledge and fresh ideas to Eisai and implement best practices in MSL material development. Forecast and manage content project budget, prioritize projects. Collaborate with GFME colleagues for business with Eisai approved vendors to evaluate the fair market value of all SOW's related to projects for approval by the Executive Director, Field Medical and VP. Lead the development of new content including creation of content, attending Medical Review Committee meetings either as a business owner or reviewer, depending on situation. Provide direction and oversight to content developers. Develop outlines for new content, review drafts and sign off on final iterations before submission to PMRC. Provide training on field materials as directed by ED, Field Medical. Lead, manage and coordinate important field medical projects as assigned by the ED, Field Medical. Requirements This will be a remote position and incumbent will be expected to be available for in-person meetings in Eisai HQ. Advanced terminal D degree in medical or health sciences (e.g M.D., PhD, PharmD, DPH, EdD). Minimum 5 years of oncology disease management knowledge in the therapeutic areas of interest to Eisai. Minimum 3 years' experience in content development, medical excellence, or related and relevant function either on Pharmaceutical or agency side. At least 3 years' experience in a Field Based Medical Affairs role. Strong broad based scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge. Strong medical writing and editing skills. Strong overall written and verbal communication skills. Must have thorough knowledge and experience within Eisai desired therapeutic area(s); comfortable and confident speaking about multiple drug indications/disease state management and competitor products and data. Thorough understanding of the pharmaceutical corporate environment. Understanding and ability to effectively communicate the role and value provided by Medical & Scientific Affairs. Ability to motivate and teach team members without a direct reporting relationship. Demonstrated ability to think critically, analyze situations and achieve goals. Excellent computer skills including power point, word & excel.
