BMS IT is accountable for all digital investments for the company and the Enterprise Architecture core and extended teams act to ensure enterprise digital investments provide value for the enterprise. The Technical Domain architect works across IT to align digital capabilities.

Key Capabilities:

Rapidly acquire conceptual and technical understanding of the processes, platforms and technologies that comprise various digital capabilities supporting business capabilities.

A strong desire and ability to create and manage relationships; communicate effectively and influence decisions across technical and business domains is vital to the success of this role.

Partner with and influence multidiscipline teams to align emerging business requirements with technical capabilities and process.

Act with technical authority when governance is required to ensure enterprise initiatives align to technical standards, company policies, procedures, SDLC, etc.

Possess a broad technical background and demonstrate an ability to rapidly understand strategies, drivers, challenges and priorities.

Confidence incorporating varying approaches to align initiatives to existing and emerging digital capabilities. For example, Pragmatic/tactical, Strategic, Cost based, Competency, Risk, etc. based.

Experience across a diverse set of cloud providers: AWS, Azure, Salesforce, etc. across technical domains such as Security, Mobility, Authentication, Data Integration, Network and Infrastructure is desired.

Example deliverables may include but are not limited to recommendations, strategies, roadmaps, technical reviews and creation/management of artifacts such as conceptual and logical diagrams.

The Technical Domain Architect will work both across and within multiple IT and business domains to solve for innovation, competitive advantage and/or efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Influence and communicate across IT and Business functional areas.

Generate and maintain IT Standards, Strategies, Roadmaps, Architecture Principles, Notice of Decisions and Capability maps.

Generate and maintain artifacts associated with business application, data and technology.

Coordinate EA activities: Architecture Review Boards, Working Team meetings, Capability and Trend research and Solution Design.

Manage and/or drive solutions/initiatives toward completion through others (informal) and via independent contribution.

Collaborate with Solution Architects, Domain Architects, and Business Partners to plan outcomes and design optimal solution architecture

Research technical trends and communicate to larger community

Network with internal and external resources to form solutions and drive consensus.

Develop and implement innovative methods to document, share and engage broader IT and Business community to ensure EA provides value.

Identify patterns of use across domains and capabilities and suggest ways to streamline and improve digital capabilities.

Move/Guide teams from ideation to implementation while maintaining focus on measurement.

Facilitate small to medium sized working sessions to assess architecture alternatives. Document decisions and follow up tasks for completion

Desired Experience:

Experience across a diverse set of cloud providers: AWS, Azure, Salesforce, GCP etc.

Experience across broad technical domains: Security, Network, Infrastructure, Data, etc.

Ability to communicate across multiple organizational levels.

A strong personal brand to aid with influence and focus.

Ability to balance strategic and tactical needs while adjusting to changing priorities

Rapidly acquire knowledge in new domain areas with limited training and knowledge

Advanced Degree in Engineering or Computer Science

Domain area(s) experience e.g. R&D, Commercial, Manufacturing and Business Operations.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with technical team members, middle level and senior management.

Deep knowledge of IT methodologies such as SDLC and Agile techniques.

Ideal Candidates Have:

Strong Emotional Intelligence and ability to adjust communication styles

Empathy based interaction style.

Pragmatic approach

Healthcare industry experience (preferred, not required)

10 to 15 years’ experience in software development, product design, IT and Business Operations across multiple industries.

5 to 7 years’ experience as Enterprise Architect or Domain Architect for a global organization with complex structure and technology needs

Understanding of architecture methodologies such as TOGAF, Zachman (preferred not required)
