Description

The Manager, Software Engineering codes software applications based on business requirements. The Manager, Software Engineering works within specific guidelines and procedures; applies advanced technical knowledge to solve moderately complex problems; receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines approach, resources, schedules and goals.

Responsibilities

The Manager, Software Engineering standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees testing and debugging and develops fixes. Researches complaints and makes necessary adjustments and/or recommendations to resolve complex software related issues. Decisions are typically related to resources, approach, and tactical operations for projects and initiatives involving own departmental area. Requires cross departmental collaboration, and conducts briefings and area meetings; maintains frequent contact with other managers across the department.

Required Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
5 or more years of technical experience
2 or more years of leadership experience
Experience implementing technologies with enterprise-wide impact
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Hands-on engineering manager or team leader collaborating across Agile teams
Ability to lead by example, motivate others and continuously look for improvements in the work of your teams


Preferred Qualifications


Master's Degree
Healthcare Industry experience
Experience with cloud platforms (preferably Azure) and experience building enterprise level data lakes
Software development experience with High level languages like Python, Scala, Java, SQL, No-SQL
SaFe Agile Certifications

Additional Information

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Work-At-Home Requirements


WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
