Description

The Director, Corporate Communications develops and coordinates lines of communication outside the department. The Director, Corporate Communications requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.

Responsibilities

The Director of Home Care, Primary Care and Medicaid External Communications in Corporate Communications works closely with senior executives in each of these critical businesses on external communications, media and public relations. The director also provides strategic advice and guidance to an internal team of Humana associates, as well as external public relations agency partners, to ensure Corporate Communications is successfully helping to position each of these businesses as they pursue performance and growth goals.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

5 years of experience in a leadership role in Media & Public Relations - preferably both corporate and agency experience

Experience in - or considerable knowledge of - health care public relations

Highly skilled with broad, advanced technical experience in PR - competent to work at high levels in multiple areas across the company

Demonstrated understanding of how to use social media to strengthen overall public relations efforts

Demonstrated ability to independently manage strategy engagements from conception to final deliverables

Highly collaborative, flexible, team-oriented working style

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to create and implement multi-faceted public relations campaigns

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

Ability to quickly build and maintain trust with senior business leaders

Preferred Qualifications

Extensive recent experience in news media relations

Reside in Central or Eastern time zone

Who You'll Be Working With

This role reports to the Associate Vice President of Line of Business Communications in Corporate Communications; works closely with team leads for each of the Home Care, Primary Care and Medicaid businesses, leaders of these businesses, and marketing associates who support the businesses.
