The Supervisor of Laboratory OCED is responsible for maintaining the integrity and the smooth daily operations of the OCED Laboratories and for the direct supervision of personnel. This position supervises Lab Assistants. Work situations are varied and require strong leadership skills, organization, prioritization, accuracy, discretion, good judgment, and independent decision-making. Major decisions are subject to the review and approval of the Manager, Director, Medical Director, and in conjunction with OCED leadership. External contacts include physicians, pathologists, and physician office staff. Internal contacts are primarily with the OCED units. Minimum Requirements:

3 years laboratory experience

Previous experience and demonstrated skills in a supervisory or lead capacity

Experience in hospital laboratories preferred, phlebotomy, and other aspects of the laboratory

Consideration may be given to internal candidates not meeting the minimum qualifications Education/Licenses/Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Associate’s degree; 2 additional years in lieu of degree will be considered

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Current Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist Certification or Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist eligible (MA-P) OR current Medical Assistant–Certified (MA-C)

Current Washington State Driver’s License
