The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Medical Center in order to maintain its high standards of healthcare delivery.nKings County is located in the East Flatbush/Prospect-Lefferts section of Brooklyn, close to the 2 and 5 subways. Our patients are diverse, with the majority being afro-Caribbean. Most of our patients are native English speakers. Knowledge of French/Haitian Creole is helpful, but not required.n nResponsibilitiesnPathologist is ultimately responsible for the technical and patient related functions of the division and is available for on sits, telephone or hospital email consultation.nPathologist reviews and signs all procedure manuals and other documents required for the proper functioning of the section. nAll difficulties encountered regarding patient test related by the supervisors are referred to the Pathologist for resolution and ensure that remedial action is taken.nThe Pathologist conducts meetings with the supervisors and staff, to discuss laboratory technology, updates, regulatory and administrative procedures and Continuing Medical Education programs.nThe Pathologist participates in interdepartmental conferences and discusses laboratory issues when indicated.
