Description

Are you passionate about discovering opportunities to improve coding efficiencies and mentoring application developers in proper coding techniques for mainframe programs? Do you have a solid Cobol, DB2, and CICS background from an infrastructure and/or development perspective to decrease application response times and reduce system overhead? If so, read on - this role is for you. This is an opportunity to have a major impact in the area of mainframe performance, capacity, and demand management. You will help to create new processes and procedures for controlling demand management and to manage application efficiency modifications. You will work closely with our Managed Services provider and internal Governance organization for mainframe performance, capacity and demand management responsibilities and activities.

The Lead, Infrastructure Capacity Management for the mainframe conducts supply/demand, trend analyses and makes proactive capacity planning recommendations to mitigate risk and rationalize the optimal amount of hardware, software and network resources to meet business needs, service level requirements and IT infrastructure growth capacity. The Lead, Infrastructure Capacity Management works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

The Lead, Infrastructure Capacity Management ensures that capacity workload modeling and availability analysis is performed for the mainframe platform and environments. Serves as a subject matter expert to application development, systems administration and engineering and other technical and business staff in planning the resource requirements for systems under development. Develops, maintains, recommends, documents and supports tools and backend utilities to provide capacity planning management. Facilitates the development of policies to ensure that existing capacity is being used as efficiently as possible. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Required Qualifications

8 or more years of technical experience with mainframe demand, capacity, and performance management

2 or more years of project leadership experience

Experience integrating new technologies with existing technologies

Experience implementing technologies with enterprise-wide impact

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors Degree

Familiarity with Agile methodologies

Healthcare industry experience

Masters degree

Experience managing major projects from end to end

Additional Information

Associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated, including booster, or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work. The weekly testing will need to be done through an approved Humana vendor, and unvaccinated associates should follow all social distancing and masking protocols if they are required to come into a Humana facility or work outside of their home.

If progressed to offer, candidates will be required to:

Provide proof of full vaccination, including booster OR

Provide proof of applicable exemption including any required supporting documentation

Work-At-Home Requirements

WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.

A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.

Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
