Description

The Provider Contracting Professional 2 initiates, negotiates, and executes physician, hospital, and/or other provider contracts and agreements. The Provider Contracting Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Responsibilities

The Provider Contracting Professional 2 negotiates contract terms, payment structures, and reimbursement rates to providers. Analyzes financial impact of contracts and terms. Maintains contracts and documentation within a tracking system. Identifies and recruits providers based on network composition and needs. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications

2-5 years of experience in negotiating managed care contracts with physician, hospital and/or other provider contracts.

Prior health solutions system experience in the areas of contracting or operations

Proficiency in analyzing, understanding and communicating financial trends

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience presenting to varied audiences

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Comprehensive knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Reliable transportation with the ability to travel to provider offices within the region up to 50% of the time

Additional Information

This role is considered Office/hybrid which means that, when not traveling to provider offices, your time will be spent working in your home office as well as within Humana's Market office located in Jacksonville, FL
