POSITION SUMMARY:

T

he LPN will provide direct care services to clients admitted to the ASU. Services include medication administration, coordination with local pharmacies in accessing medication for clients, implementing and administering detoxification protocols, ordering supplies in coordination with RN’s; and conducting nursing assessments on all new admissions. LPN will coordinate care in collaboration unit prescribers and RNs. LPN will access on-call psychiatry and NP services when needed.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIRED:

 Active Rhode Island LPN license

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 • Preparing and administering medication • Completing Vital signs as per unit protocols. • Completing SA withdrawal flow sheets. • Administer detoxification medication per protocols • To assist RN’s in coordinating medication ordering and delivery from Horizon pharmacy. • Providing direct care services as needed. • Ordering medical supplies • Conducting nursing assessments on new clients admitted to the ASU
