Description
Under the supervision of the Administrator, the Supervisor organizes and performs medically prescribed therapy programs and assists in smooth daily operation of the treatment area. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.
Principle Accountabilities: % Of Time Spent
1. Supervises PT, PTA, OT, COTA, ST, technicians, 35%
students, and volunteers, as appropriate to specific clinical area.
Promotes efficient utilization of human resources by delegating work
appropriately. Assists and encourages staff in delegating appropriately and
monitors quality, quantity and timeliness of designated activities. Assists with
interviewing, hiring, orienting, training, evaluating,appraising performance,
counseling and terminating personnel as assigned by Administrator.
Demonstrates initiative and assumes responsibilities for rotational scheduling
of therapists in all areas of patient care. Is able to perform all departmental
procedures. Coordinates daily activities including patient orders and staff
scheduling. Plans, coordinates and runs departmental meetings.
2. Performs testing and evaluation procedures as indicated. Promotes excellent 5%
quality of care. Plans therapy programs for each patient based upon evaluation
findings and physician prescription. Records and reports patient initial, progress
and discharge notes in a timely manner. Promotes safe environment for patients
and staff in the hospital.
3. Maintains Medicare PDPM categories for Part A reimbursement, monitors charges 40%
And stays abreast of Medicare Part A and Part B regulations.
4. Reports to the Administrator regarding new program development, 5%
form revisions, chart audits and quality assurance programs within therapy
department. Coordinates inventory and evaluate the need for new equipment
and supplies. Maintains close and cooperative communication with Administrator.
5. Maintain current knowledge of therapy principles; practices in standards, 5%
SNF and departmental policies and procedures; region, state and
national regulations. Represents the department when indicated at
professional and related conferences and meetings.
Participates actively in continuing education, meetings and serves as a
committee member as delegated.
6. Is an excellent leader with strong verbal and written communication 5%
skills. Recognizes problems, analyzes needs and makes recommendations.
Promotes positive, cooperative working relationships with intra
and interdisciplinary personnel, assists with communicating information
regarding therapy activities to other pertinent areas assists with design and
coordination of disciplinary and assigned interdisciplinary Quality Assurance
programs. Prepares Quarterly chart audit summary for Administrator.
7. Performs other duties as assigned. 5%

Education
Bachelor of Science, Master\u2019s degree, or doctorate in a therapy related field from an accredited institution required.
Experience
At least two to three years\u2019 clinical experience.
One to two years\u2019 supervisory and clinical instructor experience preferred.
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the Missouri State Board of Healing Arts.
Recommended membership in professional organizations.
Must be certified in CPR.
The assessment, care and treatment provided by the Director of Therapy Services. Will be consistent with the specific age related needs of the patient. The inpatient supervisor is competent to care for patient age groups including the infant, child adolescent, adult, and geriatric adult patient.
