The Department of Psychology at the State University of New York College at Oneonta invites applications for a tenure track position as an Assistant Professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology

beginning Fall 2023. Expectations include, but are not limited to, teaching, research, student advisement, college service, and continuing professional development.

The Department of Psychology at the State University of New York College at Oneonta is a thriving department of twelve full-time faculty members pursuing a variety of research interests that create an engaging learning environment, distinguished by highly accessible faculty, teamwork, research opportunities for students, and information technology-supported classrooms. The department has a continuing commitment to provide a solid knowledge base in psychology, teach scientific inquiry and critical thinking skills, teach competence in written and oral communication, support ethical and social responsibility in a diverse world including non-Western/non-majority cultures, cultural and gender diversity, individual differences, interdisciplinary issues. We value experience working with diverse populations and/or teaching pedagogies and/or multicultural teaching experience and foster students' overall professional development.

Duties include but not limited to:

teaching courses in the area of specialization, in addition to teaching foundational courses within the major. Candidates should have an active research program. It is expected that the candidate will participate in student involvements such as advisement, research supervision, and mentoring. Additionally, participation in departmental and university life is expected, and cross-disciplinary contacts are encouraged, according to the candidate's interests and background.

Base Salary:

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

Doctorate degree in Psychology (or a closely related discipline) or ABD (Doctorate required by appointment) with specialization in I/O psychology

Preferred:

Experience teaching courses in the foundational areas of our curriculum, especially research methods and statistics

Experience teaching courses in their field

Evidence of teaching effectiveness

Evidence of the capability of initiating a suitable and productive research program

Evidence of scholarly productivity

Demonstrated experience involving undergraduate students in research

Experience advising and mentoring undergraduate students

Ability to teach Advanced Methods/Statistics

Experience in teaching, mentoring, research, or service with diverse and/or multicultural populations
